A luxury hotel built in the Saracenic Revival style (Indo-Saracenic or Indo-Gothic), situated next to the Gateway of India. Historically it was known as the #TajMahalHotel or simply the #Taj. It was one of the main sites targeted in the #2008MumbaiAttacks
Designed by Indian architects: Sitaram Khanderao Vaidya and D. N. Mirza. The project was completed by an English engineer: W. A. Chambers. The builder: Khansaheb Sorabji Ruttonji Contractor who also designed and built its famous central floating staircase.
Opening: 16 December 1903
